Maze: You didn't understand one word he said, did you?
Well, I think I understood it well enough. Agent Smith justified the machines (and implicitly his) merciless attempts to "enslave" the human race by believing that humans were like viruses and were a plague on the planet. He felt that humans were brute and unsophisticated creatures as evidenced by our destruction of the enviornment, petty wars, etc as well as the supposed failure of the first "perfect" matrix. He was basically "racist" against all humans and took pleasure in torturing Morpheus, but he was also insecure about it, always trying to justify the machine's actions to Morpheus even though he would probably kill Morpheus after he got the information he wanted. Great character, but as I said they killed him in the 2nd and third movies by making him a stock villain.

I don't know, Carrey as Ace Ventura takes the cake as the best
character + actor combo in my mind. I also liked Cruise in The Last
Samurai, I loved the movie. I'd also count Harrison Ford as Han Solo as
one of my favourites as well.

Uh, Nep, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp are
incredible actors. Who said we were talking about a "hot factor"
or something like that?

Maze, I meant in the second and third
movies, not the first one. The character overall is pretty well
developed actually. But to be honest, any "classic"
villain will probably seem cookie cutter in some way (Surprised
no one ever points out other characters in the same light *cough*Luke
Skywalker*cough*)

red text will get you attention you may not like.. just some advice.

anywho's it seems to me you need to assess your choices on actors. it looks like you based it on how cute they are, not their skill at the trade. i chose a female myself as best, but that was only coincidence, not because its supposed to be how guys pick them.
of the male actors i favor, harrison ford and jim carrey are among the top. richard dreyfus and dennis quaid are better still, but i suppose my favorite male actor is jimmy stewart. nothin beats his mr. smith.
