My suggestion Mr Dibz is that you should'nt post a map unless you have a screenshot because it is not as if there is a race to get a slot for your map!

Next time please wait before posting a map unless you have screenshots ;)

Im curious about this map and hope to see it in progress!

<span style="font-family: verdana;">Hello
all! I am pretty much a n00b at making maps and I have started on a map
pred_forest. The pred bit is a predator style map that I hope to be
able to make more pred maps. It would be a nice blend of stealth and
combat

Atm habboi (mate at school) is helping me with map making etc. So any comments posted will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Dibz

God forbid!

I think what you need to focus on is detail and architectural interest. Have a look at Some of ReNo's excellent architecture tutorials:

http://www.snarkpit.com/editing.php?page=tutorials&game=HL&id=93

http://www.snarkpit.com/editing.php?page=tutorials&game=HL&id=10

They were written for HL1, but are equally applicable to HL2 mapping.
I'm not sure it is best to start with an outdoor project. Historically those have been the most difficult maps to get right, and I don't know how much the addition of displacement surfaces has changed that.
