Right ive got a d-link on a win 2000 and the d-link software loads up fine,

but on the win xp, xp takes over and uses its own software

how do i make the wirless card use d-link software and not xp's

When you first put the actual hardware in your computer and start it up, there should be a pop-up that asks if you want xp to use default/find it's own software, say no to this and then install the correct stuff.

this is true with any hardware. my advice, if you are unsure, you really shouldn't be messing around inside your PC.
Silence,this is not winXP taking over. you cannot lay this one off on MS :/
