I just tweaked my map a bit, adding shattering glass, and adding some displacement. However, when I went into CS to start a server with my map, just when its almost finished loading, I got an error message that went a little something like this:
"Memory at "0x1087108" used memory at "0x1587786" the memory could not be read, press ok to terminate application"
Something very close to that. I thought it was just somehting with my map, so I try to load cs_office, and BAM, same error message. Anyboidy have any ideas?
EDIT: Ok, happened again trying to load cs_office after a reboot, this time I got the actualy error message;
The instruction at "0x24187f95" referenced memory at "0x00bb9470". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.
Thats the real error message, exactly. I also got an "engine error" that said displacement at (0-75) or something messed up. Wtf is going on?!

I used to get that error/crash a LOT and I solved it by accident in a peculiar way... that msg is basically telling you that Hammer is having a problem with a chunk of memory that's been allocated to it. Well, I've found that if I start up Winamp and listen to music while using Hammer I NEVER get this msg. Discussing it with some people here we drew the conculsion that Winamp must be using that block of memory thus not giving Hammer access to it.
I'm not sure if loading Winamp would work for you but if you believe in superstition it might be worth a shot <shrug> I have my doubts though ...

Alright I got it! I changed the texture on my glass because I didn't like it and all of a sudden it worked! YAY! I wonder if I get points for this?
