Alright im pretty much a complete noob to milkshape and i wanted to get
help. Ive made a test model, textured it and everything but the only
thing im stuck with is getting the smds. I go to decompile the hl model
and when i do milkshape crashes giving the error
The instruction at "0x004211a9" referenced memory at "0xc4fb577e". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Am i doing something wrong here? Maybe theres an option to decompile a
hl2 model that im just not seeing? Before you ask im using Milkshape
1.7.4 so assuming from the update news on there site this milkshape
should be able to work with hl2 models.

to start with, bumping a post after only nine hours will result in fewer replies. remember, anyone that's gonna help you will be doing it in their own spare time. new names getting pushy after NINE WHOLE HOURS don't normally get much of that time lavished on them.
that said, you won't get many replies anyway, as this is primarily an HLDM mapping community.
and to compound your misery further, if you're trying to decompile an hl2 model, then milkshape can't help you.
