ive been trying for a while now..ive got the things to make it
possible, a physics_hinge a physics_motor and a func_physbox (the ring)
but when i go to test it in my console i get infinate vphysics and when
i try to either shoot or move the ring the game crashes. Any thoughts?

just create an arch and make a func_rotating of it and toggle it with a button or set the flag to start on .

The physics motor acts as the hinge at the same time, just turn on the
helper in hammer, and drag the helper sphere along the axsis you want
the physics box to rotate. Or you could use a func_rotating, but the
motor gives a more realistic effect than func_rotating.
