Was wondering, what texture would I use for parts of my map that aren't seen by anyone? Is it the {BLU texture that is used?

I have parts of the map that no player will ever see and instead of having Half-Life render it, I'd like to make it not draw a texture there and wanted to make sure I was using the correct one.

Also if there are any specific settings or steps, if you could please explain a little that would be great.

I'm probably not very helpful, but I can slightly remember that the NULL texture is the one you're looking for, though I might be wrong, and you might not have the texture at all. I wouldn't know how to get hold of it either, I think it's a certain .wad file you need, but I was looking for it before as well but I couldn't find anything.

It is indeed the NULL texture. However you need to compile the maps with the ZHLT compile tools inorder for it to be removed (the valve compile tools might not work). Here is a reference:
