Can spirit of half-life be used to make maps that are playable in regular half-life deathmatch/multiplayer? or is it just a tool if you are making a mod for half-life or singleplayer?

The very best example of what Spirit HLDM can achieve.

Thanks for the reply.
That download is broken.... I still don't understand how or if I can use spirit to aid in making things happen for a map that would be playable in normal HLDM......

The map would be deathmatch, like you asked. It wouldn't be normal cause everyone would have to also have spirit installed.

spirit of half-life is a mod and its not supposed to overwrite your original half-life files. I haven't played hldm in ages but it says in a column when you browse for servers whether the game is normal hldm, spirit of half-life, half-life rally, capture the flag etc etc... I think... i really can't remember

In the presteam days I had Spirit installed to play Gollums map and had no trouble fragging any other mod.

I wish Steam would support OP4. I'd kinda like to play it again.

Then why can't I install mine? I have an original disk from when it came out. Not stole nor borrowed.

Buy another.. Its good. Not that good. Sad really. I was also thinking it was to old since the activation code was smaller than the newer HL related games.

I have OP4 for Steam through the disc version I bought back in 2002. I never bought it on Steam, just like I never bought the old Counter-Strike, Blue Shift, or Half-Life on Steam, but used their respective keys to register them through Steam.

I'm guessing you're sure you put the key in properly each time?

Took some doing but I found Mike. Hopefully he'll either log in or send me a copy of his map.

I am 99% sure I did everything correctly, after all I have installed one or two games before. I can retry though, its worth anther attempt. I'll note any messages.

Yeah I had no issues getting the Steam version of Opposing Force and I had he WON version of Half-Life. Just enter your serial number into Steam and it should unlock everything.
