Just reading this (http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/M1A1_Abrams) article about the M1A1 Abrams main battle tank on the Combine overwiki recounjored up a memory from Half-Life. I remember being in amazement when I first bumped into the tanks and APCs in Half-Life, I just couldn't believe the game would allow that much firepower to physically work in the game, I had never seen anything like it before. Baring in mind this was the mind of a 13 year old who had only had experience before of Tomb Raider, RTS games and racing games.

So when I found out you could go in one and control the gun turret and machine gun to blow away the aliens I was beside myself in amazement and joy. I remember jumping on it seeing the hatch open and just expecting it to have some black texture in the hole but to find it had an interior I was just speechless. I don't think anything in Half-Life 2 really matched the sheer attention to detail and interactivity in Half-Life 1.

I already loved this topic when I only read the title.

I was about 8/9 years old when I first started playing Half-Life 1, and it was one of my favourite games at the time.

And indeed, interacting with the tanks and vehicles was just awesome for me as well. I really loved those moments.

I also remember playing it LAN with my brother on the map "Sub_Transit", where there was this cart that drives around the map which you can turn on and off yourself. I had so much fun really.

I also played a lot Tomb Raider around that age by the way, and before that I always played Little Big Adventure 2 (Still my best childhood game) and Rayman etc.
