I can't think of anything simpler than applying an overlay, but for some reason, mine don't show up when I load the map.
Everything looks fine in Hammer 3D view, but all the overlays disppear
once the map is loaded. I searched the forum and read through
ReNo's tutorial, but no one else seems to be having this issue.
Any idea?

Christ, the trouble I'm having with Overlays would make you weep, and like yourself, ReNo's fine tut doesn't address my issues. (I can't re-size the bastards).
As for overlay's not appearing, I get this for one of two reasons- accidental sphere adjustment (the most b.s. reason for any Source mis-hap) and moving the thing back into the surface it's on. Even a 1 pixel move will be enough to hide it.
There's prob. better explanations than these, but that's what I've noticed myself.

Another problem can be if you change your wall by clipping it or
anything, then its quite possible that the overlay will no longer
affect it. If you have an overlay that doesn't seem to be showing, open
up its properties and press the "select" button in the brush faces
part. Now use the dropper / pipette type thing to click on the wall the
overlay should be appearing on, and press apply. Hopefully your overlay
should appear once again.
Of course, since yours is showing up in hammer but not in game, this is
probably not the problem, but I thought I'd put it up for it is related
to the topic and others may find it of use.

It seems like no one is able to figure out what might be wrong with my
overlay. I'll look around in another forum then. Thanks
anyways.
