I am making a map which has a light house. Now I have created the light I want to use and everything looks fine.

Problem 1: I cannot get the object to rotate the way a light-house light rotates

Problem 2: I have created the bulb for the light and put it in front and that works fine, but to make it spin with the light do I just go to Tools > Group or is it harder than that

No flamming, I am a newbie but learning

you won't be JUST for being new i promise but...

rotating objects has been asked recently, you must have overlooked it in a search.
and just this once i won't cry about asking multiple questions, since you're new and all. unless something has changed in HL2, you cannot rotate a light entity.

Well I did a forum search... all I could find was how to make a rotating door. I am able to create the rotating light but if I rotate on the X-Axis or Y-Axis or both it doesn't spin round like a light house should. Spins round either like a hamster wheel or like a coin being flipped.

Can somebody please give me the link a to thread about this if there is one or help me.

you have X,Y and Z

one is pitch, one yaw and the last is roll.
if its turning wrong with X and Y then set the Z axis

Cheers but I realised for meself what I did wrong now. You get 2 tick boxes, X-Axis or Y-Axis... I never realised it did Z-Axis if you didn't tick either.

Can you put up your .vmf file so I could see how you did your lighthouse? or email it? I have a beach scene that it would be great in, if you don't mind...

thanks

Well me lighthouse looks great... but I need to attach the light to the front still, researching on how it is done atm. If you have MSN add livett_1@hotmail.com and I will send you my lighthouse once I have got the light sorted.
