Whenever theres a dark portion of a map the guns become quite deiscolored and actually glow.. I was curious y this happens and how could I achieve making a dark section of my map without this awful decoloration. Also when I tried adding fog.. my entire map was white BUT only when there were env_cubemaps in the area.. any ideas on this as well?

i will have to research this in a map of my own, which i plan on making complete with dark spots and fog. I will tell you just as soon as i find out. :biggrin:

O and by the way tell me if you get the fog working... i read tutorials
on it and it didnt work for me.. ( iw as trying to use it as a cloud
thingy tho) any ideas on how to make a clooud fo this smoke i have a
cliff where at the bottom i dont want to be visible

Add cubemaps to your level and it will get rid of these.
The game doesn't know what reflections to apply to your guns, fingernails, etc.

Ok ill try that a bit more.. i guess i just didnt add enough or
something of the sort.. im just having a huge amount of trouble with
lighting im good with entities and brush work etc but lighting seems to
be a real weak point of mine..

Add cube maps, and then while in the console of the game type in buildcubemaps to get it done, then reload your map.
