I had no problems with the setup under the old system. But now I can not get hlcc set up properly with steam. I must have the command lines wrong.

BSP dir

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\bbeattie@alltel.net\half-life\valve\maps

Halflife

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\bbeattie@alltel.net\half-life\hl.exe

Command line

C:\Steam\ hl.exe -dev

I did not change the tools so I would imagine that is not the problem.

Thanks and if this is a bad question, i apologize. But I would like to finish a few more maps before HL2 comes out.

You know what? I bet a bunch of the programs are getting all fux0red over that @ in the path... I've seen tons of people reporting problems like this. I still make my maps in a non-steamed install of HL elsewhere on my HD.

the best solution i can give to avoid any crisis involving HLCC..

put the tools into its own folder outside steam.

put the maps into a folder outside steam, and move it by hand (copy/paste)

start HL without HLCC (assuming it borks every time otherwise)

the command parameters (-dev -console) can be setup outside of HLCC as well..

HLCC is a great program, but it is also very old, you may have to accommodate it a bit..
