I assume this is something I've done wrong with the sky box.
I built a huge box and am building out my architecture within it. Once each of the regions of my map is enclosed, I will remove the outer box, and check for leaks.
Underneath that box, which contains all the architecture, is my skybox, about 500px away, and the sky effect works just fine.
However, I can see, floating in the sky a few bits of chaff. If I "fly" up to them to examine them, they begin to appear as the brushes of my map, and finally, I arrive at my map again.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This forum, and especially the tutorials, have been very helpful. -Thanks.

Did you remember to remove the sky camera from your real map? It should only exist in your virtual skybox.

You have a leak, load point file in hammer and look for the red line

Read dabait's comment, I would suggest that's the problem with your map. Certainly sounds like there's something up with your skybox!

Thanks everyone.
The problem was due to the fact that I had made the skybox a visgroup and hidden it. When it compiled, the projector from within the hidden skybox saw the geometry above, unbounded by the skybox, and projected it on the sky. The fact that the game wraps coordinates beyond the game boundary made it so that I was able to fly up to that ghosted geometry.
Making the skybox visible and compiling fixed the problem.
(I have another question that I'll ask in a new thread.)
