That must be my section you're talking about, not CJ's. I probably have all those leaf portal saw into leaf errors. Like I said before, maybe you could add a bend in the water as it moves out of Sinner_D's and into mine? That would reduce r_speeds with visblocking anyway (something I sort of totally neglected, ha ha)

err. ya, Hornpipe2 is what I meant. Ok I've had a long day. I called a friend a few minutes ago and asked if I could speak with myself instead of him. "hi is Nick there?" just dosent work out too well.
When the map gets to ya, try and fix thoses leaf errors. I could but its kinda lots of reconstruction for me to do.

you touched upon one of my biggest misgivings about this project WC....my section is linear yes....its tough to keep in context with the rest, when you dont know what the rest is really going to be.. :heee: ...this is also one of three main reasons for pulling my section at this point and reinserting as a basement type setup...
i have the rmf, ill look it over here in a bit....ill prolly remove my section for the time being gents, and then do as i stated earlier...hope thats ok with everyone...

i to felt that brasso's section was a bit linear, i like his idea of placing it so its a basement to the other sections...GL B
well i have a small collection of the zipfiles we've been sending around, so i believe i have all sections added sofar before horn, and i pretty sure i have all wads except that elusive factory.wad
if anyone needs these cause they got tarded and deleted theres, let me know
WC if you could please pm me link to the map with horns section included, im collecting the stuff as we get each section included.

we seriously need a way to organize everything. someone should put up a page in their pit with links to all the files, and then be responcible for updating them. we could also have the name of the mapper who is currently working on it posted, so that everyone knows what is going on.
I'd be willing to do it if you guys like the idea, although it wouldn't be much of a page... I'd probably end up writing it in word or frontpage.

LMAO oinking huh, hahaha.
ok well, i like the idea of a website for us to keep track of things and update regularly so we can all have access to the new files when we need them. i also would be willing to do such, however im l337 so ill be using notepad if i do
as for the meeting, i agree its mostlikely gonna be tuff if not impossible with different timezones and RL shiet getting in the way. but if we can do it im all for it.
P.S. if we do go with this website thing, we need to makesure and keep the url a secret as that would violate our vow of silence...lol

Sorry guys, got back from school recently and my computer's not hooked up here. I'll get to work on it shortly (meaning sometime this weekend).
Now there are snarks falling across my screen with Santa hats, and it's making this hard to type...

The map is compiling. In about 2 hours I'll send it to Crackerjack.
Also, I think I've located a few suspect places for the "leaf portal saw into leaf" errors, so I took screenshots and I'll have a little page online where someone can check it out and fix it later. The major change I made was just to move my section a bit farther from Sinner_D's and add a little winding corridor between ours, thus we have visblocking!

I'm too dumb to figure out how to fix it, I can only take screenshots of what's wrong and hope someone else can take on the challenge...
Besides, it would possibly entail rebuilding parts of someone else's section, which I'm afraid to do lest I make it worse.

ok thats mostly my section...but WTF, someone tampered with my pipes?!?!?, they werent doing any such problem before i added my section, dont see why they would now.
well whatever the case, send me the link whenever you get the chance and ill have a look, i did have to rotate my section, i guess that coulda caused such a prob.
i will be rather busy here til a bit after the holidays, i wont even be back home until the 5th, so if you guys can wait until then that would be great. send me link whenever though, ill get it when i return.

Sinner_D, its ok to have most of the errors, its a great way to learn. Constructive remember.
HornP, do appreciate what you've done. Could you also get some screens of any areas with high R's and lots of face splitting.
Whoever has the map, send it to me. Sinner_D, if you want I can look over your part and fix up everything. Im only gone tomorow to Montreal since its Christmas, then on the 26th Im installing my new mobo and memory then I will be working on Dark Complex2. But I would like to put in a few into SPLA.
I can have these errors fixed by the 27th. Then whoever has a fast computer can compile. (maybe me after the upgrade)

well i would hate to dump the work off onto someone else, but if your willing, and really want to, i really dont mind. i wouldnt beable to work on it until the 5th of JAN anyways, if you could though, send me a copy of the map as is, so i can have a look at the errors myself when i get the chance. thnx alot WC, u da man
P.S. if you do deside to fix it, you have full editing power, do what must be done, and if the pipes are the main prob(which it seems to be) you could go ahead and delete them, that wont be too hard to recreate.
BTW, i believe moneyshot used my technic of pipe construction, so you might want to have a look there too, just to be sure. GL and happy holidays guys.

I luv pipes. I will look, but I was thinking to redoing them completly with proper func_walls and vertex manip if necessary.
When I get it, I'll save the original and the moded and send both to ya for judging. My goal is to fix them errors and keep the map looking like it was before. So you cant tell the difference
Besides, your not dumping off work. (Im not going to say it but...)
you cant rape the willing (dont get any ideas guys  )
I havent done much with SPLA yet so I'd like to do something.

I suspect the rotation sinner mentions is to blame. all you will probably have to do is rebuild those pipes

well, rebuilding itsnt the prob, its are you guys willing to wait for me
i like your way of thinking WC
like i and now TB both suspect, it was most likely the rotation that screwed things up. if you want to attempt to replace my pipes for meh WC, ive got a tut on SP about how to do them, if you dont already know
aight guys, ill catch yah lata...last post until Jan 5th GL WC, thnx again.

My section isnt yet ready, but send me the map first before you edit it. I have to fix up Sinner_D's section.
Then I shall send it back to ya.
