Well this is my first map that I've been proud of and that I feel is
worth releasing to the public. Please if you have got the time, check
it out and tell me what you think. I still havent been able to play it
with other people to see how gameplay is. Games I host dont show up on
the server lists.

It looks pretty good, in a strange way. The light_environment color is certainly fitting. My problem is that the terrain doesn't look too organic: perhaps due to the texture repetition (which is not entirely your fault; the terrain textures included in HL2 aren't too great), the terrain looks a little too unnatural in its shapes and angles. Also, expand on the metallic structure: give it supports, make interior areas, etc.

I agree with 'Cass' and as i said on 'TWHL':

It's a nice looking map and i see you have mastered the subside tool well.

This is what i add on: I agree with what i said earlier but i noticed that the floor is a bit flat and when i saw it. I too thought it looked a bit odd, unnatural, so perhaps you could use other 'nature' textures on the rocks to liven it up otherwise well, you could always make your own textures.

Yeah the textures are really repetative but thats cause when I was
searching through the textures for terrain i always used a filter
saying "blend". I just discovered the rest of the terrain textures and
have totally retextured the whole thing. It looks amazing now

You win the remake prize. Too many mappers would have made the
map look like the
Original.

Keep in mind that flow will be different in HL2DM. For example,
you could force jump from the pool area to the platform. You may
want to consider a ladder or ramp up to the platform. Even if you
don't, keep in mind that gameplay won't necessary be transposed with
layout.

[*] Dynamic lighting is apparently eating up my FPS. I don't see any
cool lighting effects, so you could probably get away with static
lights (especially any point_spotlights you may have, check the "no
dynamic light" tab).

[*] Some of those props could probably fade away. Check out
dm_island17 for a good example of prop fading in an outdoor map.

[*] I could easily gravity-gun jump onto the cliffs on top the map.
From there, I can shoot down at other players or walk off the side.

I'll keep that all in mind and I have already gone through and fixed
everything you have said. I still havent been able to get someone to
host a server for me with this map since i have a firewall and I do not
know how to open it up or get around it. So right now I have no
idea how actualy gameplay on it is. I will probably add a ladder onto
the side of the platform like you said but anything else that the force
powers in JK let you do I think im gonna have to ignore. cant have
ladders everywhere and gordon isnt a jedi  just pretend its a no
force match

Thanks for your input Joe-Bob!

The lighting is pretty flat and monotonous, kind of like my own map, heh. Not quite full-bright, but pretty close. The displacement work is pretty good, but I would like to see more special features in addition to the terrain, perhaps.

Well you're incredibly negative. Especially after you insulted people in you own maps thread.

LilTortillaBoy this map looks great. I would download it if I didn't have to sign off in ten minutes to watch more of Jacko's trial. I'll give this one a go and post anything else I feel like. Looks really good though, it's made me decide to ditch my CS:S ideas and make some DM stuff.

Agreed to make my reply here more constructive. But hey, if you can't beat, em...join em. Or am I expected to only receive flames, and not return them?

(leave it- Lep.)

anyways...

The map is looking really nice, I like the natural everything. But I dont really like the bridge thing there, I'll have to take a closer look though because atm my monitor is far to dark to really see much of anything.
