I put some pipes in my map and.. well.. they dont look like they should.

1. Lighting is really dark on one prop and really light on the other. I
tried giving them a Lighting Origin to sample lighting from but that
didn't do crap.

2. The pipe appears to be above the grate - when it's actually below
the grate, the grate between the player and the pipe doesnt seem to be
appearing.

Anyone know how to fix these?

Have you built cube maps yet? Do that and Im 90% sure they will go away.

Have you built cube maps yet? Do that and Im 90% sure they will go away.
hmm yes this is after cubemaps were built, now that i think about it -
would it be better off to make em out of brushes? instead of stacking
up a bunch of short sections, would be lighter on the system i think....

i've noticed that trancparency layers get stacked really badly with a lot of models, but i've never seen an explaination for it.
