Some of you guys might remember I posted shots of some of my first
models which were to be used as props for my uni project. Well our
focus in the project has changed considerably now and most of those
won't be too useful, but instead I'm working on a series of buildings.
Here are my first two tries, both of them properly UV unwrapped onto
one 512x512 texture each and skinned using, mostly, textures nicked
from HL2...

Small House...

(this was my first building and first attempt at proper skinning, so
its kinda sucky and doesnt use the 512x512 texture space particularly
well).

Medium House...

For those interested, the game (well, its not strictly a game) is a
non-interactive AI demonstration that will show a medieval village
going about its daily routine. Other buildings we are planning for
include blacksmiths, mills, mayor's house, mine, town guardhouse, town
walls, etc...

very nicely done, ReNo. for simple models, they've got tons of character.

They look like buildings that you might put into an RTS.

You hit the nail on the head there spartan, as thats pretty much what
the game is. As its non-interactive I was hesitant to call the game an
RTS, but its probably most comparable to that. Think Settlers more than
anything really  Thanks for the compliments guys - the models
themselves are pretty simple, but I'm glad they have a certain charm to
them.

I knew that's probably what they were. RTS building models always have that unique look to them.

I'd like them if you weren't using HL2 textures. Now I'm gonna have to get all offended on the behalf of enslaved texture artists the world over.

(yes, I realize the irony given my avatar text  )
