Hi all. I am looking for a few good people to help out with a Mod. If you are interested and wish to know full details of the mod please e-mail me @ eagleeye555@hotmail.co.uk. We really need moddelers and programmers ( people who can script ) We will soon have an internet pg running with plenty of info to all those who wish to know more.

If you e-mail me, to help out with the mod, i'll tell you the story and what we want to acheive for the mod, but trust me it will be very special.

Thanks,

Eagleeye555 - The Barney Mod

Hmm, good luck. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I can't see you
getting any response to this. Reasons being that you don't have a
website, don't mention any other team members, don't have any media to
show, don't have a portfolio of work in your pit, didn't mention the
name of your mod until "signing" your post, posted a request for coders
and modellers on a mapping website...

I'm sure you can see what I'm getting at.. Don't let me discourage you
from working on a mod, but I just don't think you will find the staff
you are looking for by going about it like this. I assume by the fact
you aren't asking for mappers that you already have some? If so, then
get working on some levels and put out a bit of media with your posts.
If you have a modeller and texture artist, get them working on level
props and textures to let your map media stand out from the crowd (most
people are bored of seeing weapon renders and HL2 resource using maps).
If you can put out some solid screenshots with custom content, you will
probably have far more success recruiting further team members. Look at
the big source mods - Fortress Forever, Forsaken, Hostile Planet,
etc... - all of them have sizeable, talented teams, and they built them
up using good recruitment techniques. Take a look at
this
thread
at mapcore to see what I would describe as a good
recruitment post. And you might wanna read
this while
you are there, as while its a different website, it has some good
ground rules and tips for posting recruitment threads.

Despite my cynicism, good luck and I hope it works out for you

Hotmail addresses aren't terribly impressive sounding, either  And to be honest, if you do divulge your secret idea and someone copies it- either they'll do a crap job of it, so it doesn't matter, or they'll do a better job than you, which doesn't matter either if it's such a good idea...

and either way, if someone is interested in stealing ideas, all they need to do is e-mail you, so any secrecy is pointless.
