Okay so first theres the errors. When I run my map it this is in red text:

env_cubemap used on world geometry without rebuilding map. . ignoring: plaster/plasterwall005c

env_cubemap used on world geometry without rebuilding map. . ignoring: wood/wooddoor014a

env_cubemap used on world geometry without rebuilding map. . ignoring: glass/glasswindowbreak070a

I don't have a env_cubemap so I'm sure what thats all about.

Okay, so there are also missing props. I put a chair, a lamp and
a kettle type thing on a stove. The stove shows up but the chair,
lamp and kettle don't... I don't know why. They're all
prop_static 's except for the kettle which is a prop_physics_dynamic 's.

You can safely ignore the env_cubemap messages for now, they will go away once you put env_cubemap entities in your map and type 'buildcubemaps' in the console.

The props arent showing up because youre using the wrong prop types. I dont know which ones you should be using, try prop_static, prop_dynamic and prop_physics. I dont know what prop_physics_dynamic does, but I dont think you should be using it.

Thanks for the help. I can see all the objects when I change it
to prop_physics but I can use my gravity gun on the objects. I
don't want to be able to. The stove is a prop_static and it stays
where it should and I can see it. So I dunno why that is.
And if I wanted to keep a light with the lamp that is supposed to be
giving it. Tied to it, if you will. I mean I tried 'tie to
entity' but aparently you can't tie it to a prop. But yeah...
another problem I have is I can't select things from the 2D
views. I used to be able to and don't know what happend.
And I made a door and I can't see the 'func_door_rotating' thing that I
tied to it. Its usually a ball shaped thing ya know? And
its... not there. Sorry for so much at one time. Thanks if
you can help with any of this.

To stop the player from picking up stuff with the grav gun, go into the prop_physics flags. Theres a few flags relating to this, theyre pretty self explanatory. The stove model is made as a prop_static model, which is why it works as a prop_static. Prop_statics dont move. To attach a light to a lamp, give the lamp a name and set the lights parent to the name of the lamp. Tie to entity turns a brush into an entity fyi. I dont know whats going on with your 2D views, youll have to be more specific. I'll also need more information to help with your door. Sorry for so much at one time. Thanks if you can put different questions in different topics next time

Thanks. All that helps a lot. But some prop_statics don't
work at all. If I use a prop_physic and disable the using the
grav-gun with it will it still act as a prop_physic? I mean be
able to move and all that. Like if I were to fire at it, it would
move right? And I'm not sure if I can give you any more
information on the 2D views. I just can't select any solids by
clicking on any part of it but the X in the center or by clicking on it
in the 3D view. This can become an annoyence when you have a ton
of solids on in the map and there are many X's close together.

The door: I made a solid and textured it to look like a door. I
clicked 'Tie To Entity' and made it a 'func_door_rotating'. The
door turns but it turns on its axis as though it were in the middle of
it, which it is. So I was going to move the axis to the side of
the door. Usually its a ball, which is shown in the 3D and 2D
views. I can't see it, I mean its not showing it. When I
play the map it rotates on the axis in the center of the door, so it is
working, I just don't have anyway of moving it.

i think doors are still made the old way

make a brush covered in the origin texture where you want the rotation to take place and tie it in with the door as a door rotating
the only problem with steam updating things every week is it doesent give the developers an incentive to playtest thier work, so we do it for them

yes, but only if you're still mapping for the hl1 engine.

Corrupt, the ball, or helper, can be toggled on and off with, would you believe it, the Toggle Helpers button.

Hey, thanks. I also fixed the selection problem. I needed
to uncheck 'Toggle selected-by-handles'. But theres one more
thing that has just come up and I'm sure its something I've clicked
that I wasn't supposed to. In my 3D view if I zoom away from an
object it gets over taken by blackness. When I back up it is more
black and if I get closer its less, if I get close enough, it goes away
but I have to keep my view very close.

Example:

Tools >> Options >> (Tab) 3D View

Move the "Backclipping plane" slider to the right. Be careful though, as the editor will render more and might run more slowly.

And on the matter of prop_physics, if you completely disable motion, yes they do essentially act as prop_static.
