oh gosh sorry orph, I must have posted these in a rush and didn't size them down. good news though, I've re-done my whole site and it should run much faster now (i hope).

This was a three part project, first we made plaster modles of random objects. I just a squash I stole from the cafe and made a mold of both sides. Then we used clay to build our object, I tossed lumps of clay into my mold to get the flower shape and added them to a block and the little dog turd. Then we cooked them in a kilm for a week or so and used watered down acrylic paint to stain the over dryed clay. I then added metal shavings to the white to dull out the color a bit.

Cool, must be fun to mess about with this kinda of random creative
stuff  Made me think of some crazy Final Fantasy-esque creature - a
red tentacle thing hiding inside a haphazard armour of shells.

the red turd can be whatever you want it to be, we all have that critical license. If you really want me to spoil your interpritation and tell you why and what it is...

ready?...

just a random shape that contrast the main form, it was one of the last things I added to the work becuase without it the peice was missing something, this was that something.

Meh, red stuff looks like a lump of cudzu.

What materials are those flowers (shrooms? ) made out of? And are they some how conected to each other? Atm, they look like if some guy were to bump the table everything would fall apart.

its all made from clay. I simply made the clay casts of the shrooms/flowers then bound them to the red block (non of this was painted while I made it) with a wet clay (which was very sticky) I used that to hold it all together, like glue!

then I let it dry out and after that put it in the kilm.
