sorry I feel like I asked this before but...
Anyone know any tricks that I can use to speed up my connection here at
college. We only have about 60 kids in the dorm and the net will
run fine for 15 or so minutes then connection speed drops and if I dare
try to play on online game my ping will jump from 25 to 700 in a matter
of minutes.
I'm willing to do most anything, tell me how to hack into the system and open my port, what ever...

Usually, school supplied Internet is slow because of A) the amount of people and/or B) It's regulated. They could purposefully slow you down, so you don't use as much bandwidth (the alternative may be to ban your MAC address until a month is over, or some silly thing like that)
The best way to find out is to talk to one of the tech people who run your school's servers, they'll tell you what's going on. If THEN you find out it is your computer, come back. But, I have a sneaking suspicion: They want you to slow down.
There's some housing and apartments (with supplied Internet) who actually block your MAC address indefinitely if you go over your bandwidth. Also, I'm sure you're not really paying for this service ... right?
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I know they will kick you off or choke your bandwidth if you use too
much, but I dont recall games using that much bandwidth. Pluse
limewire is almost always on and downloading (though not when I try to
play).
I'm quite sure my computer isn't the problem, but your right, I'm not
paying for it (well I suppose in the end I DO pay for it) so I
shouldn't complain.

You could have a NAT (search google), or someone/s turning on bit torrent software which slows the network through the listening ports.
