Hi there folks, I?m SgtJman, the leader of the mod ?The
Corporation?. The mod is coming along nicely model wise, but we are being let
down in the mapping department, we have four mappers right now including my
self, the other three are doing great, but I have little time to map, keeping
this thing running is a full time job. Because of the vastness of the story we
need several more mappers, right now five of the thirteen chapters are being
worked on. You must be experienced with source engine mapping and have examples
of previous work or a portfolio. If you are not a mapper we still have
positions available in a number of areas including concept art, modelers and
model skinners, so please don?t hesitate to ask if your talent is needed.

If you are asking yourself, ?This seems like any other mod
why should I join?? then here are some persuasive points

-We have a design document stating all the parts of the mod
and it is available for developers freely

-Several models are already complete which can be accessed
on our website, here is a peak!

-Close team contact through private development forums

-A strong plot line, with all the strings tied together

-A dedicated team from all parts of the globe

If you are interested please post on our forums or send an
email to SgtJman@gmail.com

The hub of the mod, the website is located at: http://the-corporation.planethalflife.gamespy.com

Forums are: http://the-corporation.planethalflife.gamespy.com/phpbb2/

And for all of you who have never heard of us before, here
is the teaser plot:

In the year 2011, a great war broke out; with seeming no
reason many countries were attacked and destroyed. With the enemy right at its
door, the American government as we know it today crumbled. Slowly American
soil was taken, a group of Generals created a corporation called ?Central?, it
was designed to give back order to the country and in turn defeat the foreign
invaders.

As predicted, Central drove back the opposing troops, restoring a type of peace
to the rest of the country, the remaining parts of the world rejoiced the year
2020 more than any before it. After the war was finished the choice of the
people was clear, Central would stay as the government. The first singular
leader of this new power was decided 5 years after the war was over and by the
group of men who started Central; they choose a military man such as
themselves, Lieutenant Colonel C. Nudge was that man, he had a past in politics
but when the war broke out he joined the army, climbing ranks at an outstanding
pace.

In this mod you play as Karl Hagens, he experienced the war as a journalist,
and experiences the new post war world in the same way. Now in the year 2031, a
world where Nudge has been in power for 6 years, Karl is investigating the way
that criminals have been treated and stumbles upon a startling fact, many
people who have opposed the government and generally have not broken the law
are being treated as hardened criminals, sent to the most high security prisons
or have simply ?gone missing?. Karl and his boss, Mike decide, that it is best
to not publish the story, as the information shows, it would not be in their
favor, so Karl?s research is hidden away deep in a filing cabinet,
unfortunately Karl and Mike are no the only ones who know about this research?

They don't

Last time I heard, there are 142,000 mods created each day. We only hear about 2 or 3 a month.

Be glad.

and,

Good luck with your mod.

Isn't it obvious why mods come and post recruitment posts on editing communities like ours? If you need people with modding skills, then the obvious thing to do is go and ask at the modding communities. There's nothing wrong with people doing it - it's about the most logical thing they could do.

Good luck with the mod, hope you find the staff you require. One little tip - you may want to talk about the gameplay at least a bit. As it stands you talk about the story, but nothing about how it plays. It's fairly easy to deduce that this is a single player mod, but it's never stated, which would be wise to do, and if you are intending on having any novel gameplay features you should give a taste of what they are. Even a few bullet points would do the trick  Again, best of luck.

I was thinking this but, I am also glad that they all do not come as well. Personally, the only problem I have with them coming is when our people give them a hard time for it.

If they post their intentions and wait for relevant replies all is cool for me.

The only thing worse than a poorly represented Mod topic, is a poorly handled response to its shortfalls.

Again, good luck with this and welcome to Snarkpit.
