Aight, I feel completely stupid... but in a recent reformat I lost
everything. I guess it's time to go to the new editor and give up on
the old one.

Problem is... I dunno how to set it up and every tuitorial I've looked at is for VHE for Hl1 and just HL1, not it's mods.

If someone could point me in the right direction, or even give me explicate instructions for:

Setting up Valve Hammer Editor to map for the Half Life mod Natural Selection

Set up the Worldcraft 2 editor SDK for HL2 mapping

I would be very very much obliged. I just gave up after an hour and a half fiddling with it and not getting any love

Natural Selection? I think you speak about the old Hammer? I'm confused...

To set uo for natural selection, you'll need to get worldcraft 2, or Hammer 3.X(can't remember). You might be able to get them at TWHL.com.
You'll also need Zoner's Half-Life Tools, which you can also get at TWHL.
Lastly, you'll need the Natural selection .fgd, which you should be able to get at Natural Selection's website, or by a quick websearch.

If you want to set up for HL2, the new Hammer comes with the configuration.
Also change the texture of the dock. Docks are rarely tile. -Facepunch

The problem is the Natural Selection website was hacked a year ago and they are still working on issues before releasing the new site.

Some googling should get you a proper fgd. Try some natural selection fansites, editing sites, ect. Just make sure it's the latest version.

that's not the problem  I have the fgd, but I don't know what
directories to point VHE to. I can't get my sprites or models to show
up in the 3d view.

also, www.twhl.com is some random search engine

ALso, does anyone have a good, full set of overlays for all the light
textures in the ns.wad and ns2.wad? including the trim lights and such?

you don't say what version of hammer you're using, but you need 3.5 for that.

I use VHE verssion 3.5. I have everything working now except for the models showing up.

I also need to know if anyone has a set of overlays for all the lights cause when I tried making em they looked like crap.
