I have downloaded a nice program which monitors how much bandwidth I use, and thus helps me to not use up my total ADSL bandwidth cap (I have a 3 gig cap) but unfortuantly it has a 30 month trial. Since I have got it I have gone from using 200megs a day to 20 megs a day.

Anyone know of a free one which is good and quite popular?

30 day trial you mean? 30 months seems excessive.

I searched for one ages ago but ultimately found it more practical to look at the provider's website with my login data. It shows a detailed list.

I'd be surprised if your internet provider didn't offer a similar service on the website?

Also there's still the not-so-legal way...

Yeah, they do have a list. But it only updates once a day.
But it does have nice 3D graphs and stuff.

Okay, I found this on my FIRST shot in searching google.

Emsa Bandwidth Monitor

It doesn't need to be installed, just run it. It will require an activation, but that's simple and easy and requires no information from you. Run the program, click "Get Activation Code" (Or something like that) it will lead you to a page with a menu on the right, find the bandwidth monitor and click "Act." button to the right of it. You'll be redirected to a page with an activation number, copy it, paste it, activate. You're all done.

Of course the program needs to be open at the beginning of the month for it to properly the bandwidth you've consumed (since it only works will running), it can be minimized to the system tray, also. It will not measure bandwidth consumption of every computer using your internet connection (nor would any other bandwidth monitor, unless it was at some hub point, like with in a router)

It works, give it a shot, it's freeware.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Whatever you do, just don't install Netlimiter. It conflicts with Steam.

Of course he is. Hasn't he said so numerous times.

Seriously, Crono seems to be able to locate s**t when many others, myself included, cannot.

We both looked up something in google once simultaneously and came up with totally different results... Even though we both typed in the exact same search params.

go figure... ahem I mean, YOU GO ADAM!
