Yes.. but you have to get past the damn Boot Camp.

If you want to be a Sniper you have to shoot perfect at BRM. ( Basic Rifle Marksmanship. ) And you have to train in the weapons you want to use.

The game itsself is awesome, once you get in and play that is. You cant bypass the basic training.. my only complaint.

I like the game alot. Give it a shot..

Its very slick for a free game, the boot camp is a pain but it gets better.

Oh yeah, try killing one of the instructors in the bc levels

I'm sorry ... but I think it contains a bit too much army propaganda ... and the servers I connect to, are quite laggy ... I'd say, if you want to try a free game, try Enemy Territory or so ... waay more fun, imho.

AFAIK it was developed by the US army as a recruitment tool so there will be a certain level of propaganda. As realistic sims go its prolly one of the best ones available.

I hear there's a lot of issues with friendly fire when playing online, also, you seem to lose to nations 3-15 times as small as you :E

I love the game. Its the military and its a your chance to do whatever the hell you want. Shoot tangos? Frag 'em with the 203. Etc. You can even train to become a sniper (if you get 38 out of 40 on the rifle range) a medic, etc. Even a para. The only dislike I have is that it isnt made for the military, but for the american military. IMO that is too much but then again who really cares.

Once you get into playing online, thats where the fun is, you can choose your class (but if you just start out, you'll never get sniper as their is usualy 1 spot and the more veteran players get it)

I'd play it, but my good computer isnt on the internet.

I must admit they've used the UT engine in a good way, looks realistic.

I played AA when it came out, I instantly hit 39/40 at the range but I wanted a perfect 40. Too bad though, because I never hit more then 35 since then, I could have been a sniper! Darnit, should have thought about that.

Propaganda, to my knowledge there wasn't any. Could point it out to me because all I saw was a realistic boot camp, military simulation.

Well I dl it and was playing it all this morning. I'm impressed. Sure it's stuffed full of American goodness, but it's great fun for those like me who don't really give a damn what flavour it is as long as it's good.
