Everyone is familiar with the digital 'Use' within the game, where you move up to a button, door etc, and hit 'Use' and, assuming the appropriate prerequisites have been met, the button activates, the door opens etc, etc.
I'm happy with that.
Now we come to the Analogue 'Use', where you walk up to the door crank wheel, the lift switch, etc., and have to hold 'Use' for the whole operation, to get the door all the way open, get the lift to the right level.
How do you implement that?
I suspect there's something blindingly simple that I've missed, or is it down to some clever technique?
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks,
CJ

I believe there's an entity named something like momentary_rot_button that does that. I'm stretching my memory here but I think there's an example in the SDK, possibly the first airboat map. Texture the button entity with tools\invisible and make it the parent of the prop wheel.

did you want a button that you had to hold to operate or are you trying to get your use key to keep using while you hold it?
the only problem with steam updating things every week is it doesent give the developers an incentive to playtest thier work, so we do it for them
