Anyone who knows anything about MPEGs

Okay, long story short, I have a movie file in MPEG format on my computer. It's about 80MB, give or take a few megs, and roughly 45 minutes long. It starts out great, but as it goes on, the audio gets a bit out of sync with the video. Then, the audio gets very out of sync with the video (almost 1 second between when a character's lips move and when I hear what he/she said). Is there any way to fix this, other than downloading another copy of it and hoping for the best?

Try another decoder, or get a faster computer :smile: .

get virtual dub and re-encode it.

someone has prolly tried unsuccessfully already and thats why the sound is out to begin with.

sometimes on rare occations its your player only, you can try.

go to www.doom9.net and get the gordianknot codec, it has everything you need to play it. gordian knot

It's not an MPEG file, it's a .RM file, and it says it's "RealVideo 8".

Movies: They're Not Worth It.

There's a program called G-Spot which can tell you what encoding a video file is in, in case you have overwritten the filename or something... Maybe you can use that next time :smile:

as to the movie list, there are three of us burning the movies, and sometimes the titles are not placed correctly, and then the next person overlooks them and re-enters the title, then i come alone and use a sort program to re-alphabetize it, that explains some of the doubles.

some are to large for one disc and should have a 1&2 beside them

and as for wasting time, well you guys know kazaa, you may be after two towers, and end up with two towering penis's, due to some punk renaming files

well if it downloaded, and its a high quality movie, chances are i burned it anyways, cause someone may want to watch it, but i draw the line at 2 towering penis's

I had problems with lipsync when playing in Windows Media Player. Using RealOne Player fixed it for me.

Orp, how can you like dumb and dumber? Its the most stupid film ever. Nice list though.

BTW, I am indeed using Real (specifically RealOne Player). Moving the little slider to the end of the show still makes the voices be out of sync, and I downloaded the thing in .AVI format and it did the exact same thing, so it's probably wrongly encoded inside the file itself.
