Half-Life 2: Deathmatch Lyoko

If you have seen the Cartoon Network TV show, Code Lyoko, then you will have an idea of what is map is going to be like. It will have everything from the school (no walk-through buildings) to the factory to Lyoko itself. This is going to be a massive level so it will be a pretty big file to download and take a long time to program properly without any mistakes. Enjoy!

Well, I decided to try and work on HL2 again, but instead of making a whole new map using just stock HL2 assets (which would invariably box me in as far as theme goes -- abandoned mining town, destroyed city or Combine citadel) I figured I'd port I Don't Know ( http://www.snarkpit.net/maps.php?map=2933 ) to Source. It started out as a HLDM:S port, but then I wanted to try HL2DM, and here it is. I used the original textures, albeit resizing and sharpening them to make them look high-def, and I plan to add bump mapping and such.

----UPDATE----
Changed the name to DM_Convulsion. The name comes from the fact that it's a synonymn of Quake, which this arena looks a good bit like something out of.

I got the idea to make this map from an XBOX game called "Medal of Honor: European Assault". I play it a lot with my friend.

It's not very close to the real thing but there are parts of it that are the same.

My name is Jeremy (MiSheps in HL2DM).

I am the server owner of MiSheps Basement HL2DM servers (4 of them). Back in February I decided I wanted to give back to the HL2 community by building a custom DM map. After 4 months, and around 400 hours of work, I?m happy to say that I have no accomplished that!

I?ve put a lot of hard work into a new map, along with the help from a few very talented people. I would like to get my map out to the world for everyone to enjoy! I would love for my map to be enjoyed by as many people as possible and more importantly I want it to gets it?s start in the HL2 world on the best servers that are out there.

The map is a replica of Castle Windsor (from the UK). It is beautifully done with almost 100% custom graphics, plenty of secrets, & great weapons layout. It is a very large map which could easily accommodate up to 25 to 30 players, but at the same time, easily fluid enough for 2 to 3 players to still enjoy. It is a big map, but very easy to move around. Bottom line is that if you have players who want a good fight, regardless of how many there are, they can enjoy this map!

There are secrets all over this map, but all of which are relatively easy to find / figure out. The weapons layout of the map is very well thought out and designed for hours of fun. When you die, you can find your favorite weapon quickly and easily but at the same time, the layout is designed so that it will keep people on the move and will limit campers from wanting to camp in any particular location.

I have only included 2 RPG?s in the whole map, both of which are located inside secret areas that are on the more difficult side of figuring out. There are NO slams in this map as I use a lot of holographic doors and slams would be an unfair slaughter in any map with holographic doorways.

Bottom line, the map is fun, fast, and furious. In a lot of areas of the map you will (hopefully) be impressed by things that you have never seen in any other map. There are jump pads which can send you flying, lifts what are designed for quick navigation, low gravity suits as well as normal gravity triggers spread all around. All the water in the map acts as health chargers ? no need to ?use? them? just stand in water and be recharged! There are 3 superchargers in the map, and plenty of weapons and ammo to keep things hopping! There are also 6 stationary rocket launchers that are set in place but can still be aimed freely. These make for a RPG lovers dream, while at the same time, give the snipers an easy target to pick off those RPG whores.

It is a fun map, and I would LOVE for you to include it in your map cycle. If I were to say anything negative about this map, it would be in reference to its file size. Because all custom graphics are used, as well as custom sounds, the file size of the map is large (70 MB). However, it is very much worth the download. Once your players have a chance to play on the map, I truly believe that they will be hooked.

This is a sort of killbox type map. But it's got an outside and it's not just one big box it's got a few rooms. The red steam leads in the blue out.

Note: You have to press "e" on the platforms to make them go up or down.

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch dm_swat_4_towers

This is a sort of snipe map with 4 towers in the middle. It has a few secrets. It may look familiar, it is. But just so you know i made the whole thing from scratch. When you play it, it says "made for: swat clan" because I was in that clan and i originally made it for the swat clan server.

When I started working on this last year I wanted to create a urban-themed free for all deathmatch map, but I gave up on it cause I did not know the hammer editor so well at that stage . So a week ago I started messing around with it again and I think it can work as a small/meduim sized (8 player max) map.

I have been sitting on this map for a long while now, so I'm finally going to release it. The only thing I had left to do were small little finishing touches. I've taken care of all of that - so it's being released. Some things you should know: as with my other release, this map is based upon a single player experience. I assure you, whatever similarities to dm_lockdown you see, are purely coincidence, as the brushwork is 100% done by me. If you think otherwise, than you are a fool.
