It was a fact finding mission and the expenses are all perfectly allowable within the rules (including the inflatable kittens)

Uploady map stuff should be working properly now! I haven't changed the edit page yet but that's no big deal. Can wait until everyone complains the add page isn't working in Internet Explorer 4 and fix it before doing that :D

HOLIDAYS ARE FORBIDDEN BY LAW.

Been away over Easter, enjoying the glorious spring monsoons and fog we get in England this time of year (Jan - Dec).

I didn't finish getting the new upload code working on this webhost before I went, so will get it done now and then we can look at moving.

He got back to me on the ol' Facebook, looks like he was either away or busy but as soon as he found my request he pushed it through GoDaddy. I won't edit the DNS records until I hear back from larchy. Needless to say we should be sorted within no time at all - haven't seen larchy for a day or two but then it is Easter holidays over here so he might be tied up with friends and family.

-Now may I get excited? :hee:

-Will check the map upload as soon as I get the chance!

Ok, the new upload system has been implemented when adding a new map!

Please check it out and let me know of any problems... there is quite a bit of new code there (ie untested except by me), and some extra security stuff in the background... so lemme know any issues!

[Edit: oop, hang on, it ain't working... ]

I rattled off an email but nothing came back yet, checked his Facebook and looks like he has been idle for a wee while so my guess would be that he is holidaying somewhere or is wrapped up in PhD work. Ruddy students

Pretty cool; I just got through checking it out. Those kind of features will always make people happy! I'm Glad you took the time to implement that. It'll probably help those who aren't sure about their connection speed, and will see why it takes as long as it does! Plus it just looks cool. ;)

-O.K. Yea, I knew it was mentioned before. I understand now about waiting; that makes sense. Hopefully Gwil can coax Lep into letting go of the last details sooner than later! :cowjump:

OK, there is an early version of the new upload system here

This is the current map upload page with the upload progress plugin in place for the image and map file uploads.

It requires flash 9.0.45 or higher, and works with flash 10 too. If there is a problem with flash then the fields should degrade to a standard upload form (not sure if I've included that code yet actually...)

You can ignore all the text fields - all the form validation checks are disabled, and you do not need to fill in any required fields before pressing submit.

File uploads begin when you press submit.

The rest of the form is never actually submitted - that is disabled right now as it is just a test of file upload progress.

Any files you upload will not be saved. Once the uploads are finished and the bars are at 100%/upload says completed then that's it - nothing else will happen. Refresh the page to start again.
