Map Description

I've been working on this map for about a month now,
and although it doesn't seem like much compared to
some other quality maps, I'd like to think I've come a long way.

It was inspired by the deathmatch genre in it's
entirety although much of it comes from the quake family.

It is built 100% with displacements, and there is not a single
visible world brush in the entire level.

It features large asteroids on orbit around the map and smaller
ones are floating inside it waiting to be grabbed.

It's worth a mention that the small asteroids won't
respawn until they've all been thrown off the map.

<DIV class=quotetext>Well you do have some competition with dm_tribute, they look very similar, although I think I saw your map first  The problem with these maps is that it's quite easy to fall off if you're not sup4r-1337, though from your screenshots it does look like you've tried to get round that by bunching the map in.</DIV></DIV>

Actually, the maker of dm_tribute played a beta of my map before coming up with his "concept", not that I'm bitter or anything.

I understand the concern and it's true, the map isn't for great scores, but it makes it even more fun, especcially when you're playing with friends having a laugh.

What I really enjoyed was the added air-time included with lower gravity, enabling you to pull off some UT-esque stunts.
Anyway, thanks

Looks good, first abstract map for HL2 - you should be proud. How does it run?

Your map is absolutely beautiful. That's amazing that those are all displacements and that you took the time to smooth out every curve! Also, I think the setting is great and the skybox accents the map perfectly!

Definately a very unique map. To have the patience to work with displacements to make something like that is an achievement. I imagine this map would consist of some interesting battles. How are your fps on the map considering it is all displacements?
