This level was created as coursework for my Games Engines & Physics module at Staffordshire University as part of my Computer Games Design degree. The brief was to create a level in the source engine (we had created a level in the Unreal engine in the first semester) based around Staffordshire University, beaconside campus.

The level is set several months before the events of Half-Life 2 and the player is briefed via Text messages recieved on their phone from various sources.

The combine have been oppressing the students at this university
for several years now. The vast majority of students couldn't be
bothered to get out of bed to fight the overlords, but now they
have reason. The oppresors have denied the sale of alcohol on
the university premises. The time to fight has come.

Fight your way to the Lounge and Legends bars and turn on all
beer taps."

Note that this level is not 100% complete for public release. While it is completely playable from start to finish, it would be confusing for anyone who doesn't know the Staffordshire campus. A slightly updated version with signs and various bug fixes should be released in a week or so.

And note, this is my first map finished in many, many years.

Half-Life 2 Follow Her Under (working title)

This is my first single player map/mod for HL2. It's intended to be an episodic story arc.

You are following the trail of your abducted girlfriend. Your journey takes you into a walled part of a city, ruled by a rogue (combine?) commander.

Part 1 map 1 has been fleshed out, ready for feedback.

Other working title:Hearts of Darkness.

This is my first official map that I am going to release. It is set on an island near the coast. Still working on texturing and models for the map. Part of the aim for the map is that it's dark and creepy, but stll enough light so you will rarely use your flashlight. Still working on story, mostly for personal enjoyment right now. Please give me lots of feedback. Any sort of criticism is welcome.

My sixth try at making a map from a sketch I'd titled "street." It's coming along quite nicely.
At this point, there are still a few assaults that I havn't been able to get working, and it feels too linear to me.

This single player map was developed as part of my pgd in games technology. It took about 4 weeks of solid work to get it to this stage. The map is based on the player trying to excape a underground cave complex run by the goverment. The player starts in a prison cell and must make his way through the complex and out into the city.

My first foray into HL2 mapping. I decided I would try to create a single player experience, because I just wanted to be able to create a variety of locations unbound or constrained by objectives (a la CS:S) or connectivity (a la HLDM).

Much much more to come as soon as I find some free time this summer.

The map is made out of my homehood, as much as I can do it (or as much as the map allows). At first i just wanted to push engine to its limits, but then i figured that if I made it as a war map, it would be lots better. So - right now I am making a building where you start from. It's difficult, making all these hallways etc and making it as realistic as it looks in real life. I also have basic knowledge of NPC and making them "move" :P, so probably you see from the window that war is going on outside and you can either climb to roof and view it or grab your weapons from the table and join the rebels.
The map will probably take place in evening, so streetlights are on and it's a bit darker than full day map. Since only one building is ready for now, and there are LOTS of buildings, then... well you can't expect it very soon. When I finish first one, i put up few screenshots.

After the big bang at the end of hl2, the combine have been trying to regain control over the world. The latest cell has taken hold of a hotel and are refitting it as thier base. As gordon Freeman (really!) you have to kill them.
