convert .bsp to .map

how do I do this since all maps are bsp?? I want to edit some maps

There are decompilers for that, winBSPC for example.

But why would you edit maps that you don't have access to the source
of? This is usually frowned upon, as sometimes it's used to steal maps.
Its better to ask the author of the map for the source.

That's better anyway since a decompiled map is hardly ever error-free...

try searching for zoners tools then, as that's what those compilers are packaged as.

I'm usually not for people editing other peoples work but if it's to learn you can get vmex and it will do what you want.

Beware with winBSP and co! They mess up the map alot, because of the
nature of BSP. Also, dont rip any people's map, otherwise you will have
hell 2 pay!
