I really loved the platformer. Key word "lovED"
Ever since the platforms moved to a 3d universal control plain, they've
not been able to pull off the accurate contro elements of the 2d
platforms. Im not against the games being 3D, I'd just like to
view them in a 2d style off to the side so that I could have the
control of the older games.
When Duke Manhaten Project came out many years back, I got it simply because it was that old sid scoll style.
In short, I liked the the fast and accurate control of the sidescollers.
Super Mario World-->Zelda: Majoras Mask--> Havn't played any metroid.
You know, I've actually got nothing to say

I just don't like the first donkey kong. Well. That's not true. I'd rather play one of the newer ones, is what I should have said. I have the first one too. Also have Mario Brothers.
I know Minish Cap is good  I just don't have the money to pick it up. Not a big deal, it'll be in stores for awhile.
Link's Adventure isn't a bad game. People don't like it because it's sidescrolling ... big deal? It's still a good game.
What about Ninja Turtles? Oh man... My favorite is the arcade version of Turtles in Time (Also on the SNES, but not as pretty) Good games.
What the hell happened to games? Stupid focus on graphics.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Actually, I do have Four Swords Adventures. I forgot. I knew I'd
forget one. I also have the Link to the Past/Four Swords on GBA.
I wish I had Turtles in Time. I love that game. I have 1 and 2:The Arcade Game on NES.
Crono, if you haven't, try the two Oracle games for Zelda. Those are
great ones, I thought they'd be somewhat average but they were actually
quite awesome. I eBay'd Zelda II in the summer, that was one of the
last ones for my collection.
I worked on beating it...and good god is it hard. Mostly because you
gotta start aaaall the way in the beginning each time. Same with Final
Fantasy I on NES, damn can it get rough.

I would totally get a hold of the Oracle games if I could. I have Link's Awakening as well, but I'd like to get the DX version. Mmm color.
I have The Hyperzone Hiest on Genesis and Turtles 2 on NES. When I get around to building my arcade box, I'll definitly have the ARCADE versions of 2 and Turtles in Time on there. With X-Men, the Simpsons, Moonwalker, and many other awesome games.
I've found unopened copies of Zelda 1 and 2 on ebay for like $20. But I always find them when I have no money  (Like to get my hands on Panzer Dragoon Saga too ... when people get out of the habit of charging $200)
Final Fantasy 1 IS hard. Jesus. I'd rather play Dawn of Souls though, so I have a better idea of what's going on while I'm playing. Sadly, that'd probably make the game easier.
Battletoads was cool, River City Ransom was better. Oh man, I <3 that game.
Another good RPG series is Dragon Warrior (Quest, outside the US) on the NES, I thought 2 was the best.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Battletoads is tough. I got through maybe 1/2 or 2/3 of the game when I
was young. Don't own it so I haven't tried to get further. And it's not
the same on an emulator.
Dawn of Souls is good for some things, but it's so far from the difficulty of the original.
Haha, I saw moonwalker for the first time last year. Man is it funny.
I'm thinking of making a big MAME machine myself one day. I loved
Simpsons, I was never a big arcade person, but I think if you added it
up that game ate my quarters the most. I also want to aquire the Killer
Instinct arcade machine. I eBayed the SNES one brand new last week, it
felt like a sin opening the seal. But I forgot the thrill of opening
one of the old carts.

So then it's a tie between Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World, is it?

Chrono Trigger!! (The PSX version is just ruined by the cinematic)
Final Fantasy II and III are very good (Also known as IV and VI)
I don't think you need any other RPGs for the SNES. Those three and Secret of Mana are the best of the best. (There's others, I just can't think of them)
Oh yeah, Star Ocean, except that's only in Japanese, unless you find a translated rom.
Like I said, Ocarina of Time has the best executed plot. Even if Link to the Past is more fun to just pick up and play.
Master's Quest is okay. It's just Ocarina of Time with some changes. Nothing spectacular. WindWaker isn't Zelda. Let's just leave it at that. (Good game nonetheless though)
Also, on the Mario 3 and World being tied. I would agree they're the best Mario games. I would have chosen World if it was more difficult and longer (Or if it was included in AllStars, I would have selected that). Still wondering what else is in the game. I could only ever get 96% complete. I know some people were saying stuff like "Move this way on the world map here and islands come up in the ocean" or something like that. But, not too sure if I believe them, since most people don't have proof ... like screen-shots.
I have another one: Best Contra game.
(Japanese version of 3. Because it's the same as Alien Wars, except you get other characters ... Like a bad ass robot, that sits under EVERYONEs gun fire. Check out the Rom of it.)
Hmm, seems after I look at my love for Nintendo games, I automatically start looking at Konami.
Gorb, something else I'd have on my MAME box would be Metal Slug. All of them, of course. Probably Galaga and Raiden .... AreoFighters, Mars Matrix ... Some Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Die Hard Arcade. If I could build duel joysticks and stuff, I'd put Virtual On in too.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

My Allstars cart has SMW in it. So there technically is a version like you'd want.
Yeah, MKII is the shiz. Nothing like doing the ballbreaker and getting that "Whoopsie" dude to pop out.
As for Super Mario World I think 96 was the final score, it's not a %
so far as I remember, it's just the amount of paths or whatever. The
are like 2 paths in the last world that I don't know off-hand and
always forget. They're basically useless but I should really look them
up.

I had 100% of Super Mario World completed, like way back about 11 years ago. And that was completely on my own w/o any hints, strategy guides, or internet...
...Those were the days.
