I beg apology to those that do not celebrate some form of Christmas be it religiously based or just using it as a reason to be merry.

My question is simple. What kind of music do you like during the holidays?

EXAMPLES:

Classical-Traditional? IE Carol of the bells played with bells.
Modern? IE Carol of the bells by Kenny G

I admit, my examples of each type are a bit poor, but they will give you a clue to my meaning.

I would consider any music remade to be modern assuming it was remade within modern times of course (Country,Rock,Pop,Soul, etc). I would consider Carol of the bells by the Vienna boys choir to be classical. Hope that makes sense.

Just got James Blunt: Back to Bedlam, and for some reason that's
becoming my Christmas music. Mostly though, I listen to the same
Zep/Pantera that I usually do.

Same here. I like to drown out the spirit of Christmas with something like Venom or good ol' Pantera.

My mom puts on Leon Redbone for Xmas music, he's got an awesome, manly voice. Which isn't to say that's all that I listen to, since I'm not usually sitting out in the living room for an extended period of time, but if I am, I'll be listening to Redbone if anything. He sings some Crosby songs anyway, so it's all good.
One day you'll know what you're talking about, I can hardly imagine

Verve Christmas Remixed rocks a bit, but I really prefer traditional stuff like sinatra, crosby or anything else. (John Lennon !)

I guess I throw in some Harry Connick Jr. around Christmas. He's awesome, but yeah, mostly no change.

I prefer traditional classic but really, Christmas music is a mood thing. Most times I want songs with no words playing softly in the background but sometimes I want the more boisterous loud ones with lots of volume and singing.
