Jus a short question. In my opinion, all the textures i used to map seem to have a much lower detail than hl2 had. Any tips to make them look better?

They shouldn't be any different, if you are using the HL2 textures anyway. Are you sure you haven't changed your video settings accidentally? Load up an official map then load up one of your maps without closing the game, and see if you still think there is a difference.

all texture scales should be .25 by .25 not 1 by 1 like in HL1. The
reason for this is because HL2 textures are 512x512 pixels unlike HL1's
128x128 pixels.
