Ok, im almost done with my map, so I compiled it to see if there was anything I
forgot to fix =) And there was...

I have textured my map on the inside, but want it to be totaly BLACK on the outside!
Now its the standard AAA texture on the outside, and that texture shows from the
command chair! How do i get it all black?

I tryed to "paint" the outside with a black texture, but then I couldnt compile
the map because of the texture limit =P So, I looked at other maps, and saw
that the walls was kind of transparent from some views, and i thought that the
AAA texture would do that to my walls, but it didnt! So now im out of ideas =/

Hope someone here can help me, (and hope u understood what i ment)
Just in case i have uploaded a picture to shot u what i mean =D =)

Thanks for replays in advance =) =D

Have you tried using the null
texture? It will make those areas see through and it would remove
useless faces as a by-product. And are you talking about the memory
limit or what? In any case you should check if you can replace some
textures with some others you already used somewhere else in the map
and thus free some texture memory for the black texture. I'm not sure,
if the null texture counts towards the texture limit, since faces
covered with it will be discarded from rendering hull(but the collision
stays).

that's a bad habit you've got there. you should only use the AAA texture on trigger type brush entities, that are invisible in game. i seem to remember that shining a flashlight on a visible AAA surface would even crash the game.

By the look of the minimap, it looks ike you completely surrounded you map in a box. This should NEVER be done. If you mapped in a good habit, you wouldn't have to texture the upper faces with the "null" texture, as the compilers remove any face that is touching "the void."

Did someone just screw this thing up properly? Anyway I'm glad that my suggestion helped. And boxing in maps is bad... real bad.
