ok lads, im starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel... wilst starting to detail this map o' mine, ive found a problem. and i cant seem to find an answer. here be the pic....
ive been fighting these shadows off for about 2 days now, and ill be damned if i can get these to set right....only after i skinned the roofs as seen (these have to be 2 part or more roofs so's to get the effect) do these show up this way....throw me some insights gents, if i could impose upon you all...
Doc B... :dodgy:
EDIT>>> judging from the overwhelming response, i assume either a) no ideas, or b) its so stupid and obvious a fix....im curious as to which.
in any case, i fixed my problem...

Shadows with displacement maps? You don't happen to be talking about those black stripes that appear at the edges of separate displacements maps which are supposed to work as one?
I found that this problem only appeard after running a bsp-rad only compile. Some way, rad cannot light displacements properly without having vis information, and the result is that there are ugly black edges on the displacement maps afterwards.
The solution: Don't be worried and run a vis compile when you don't want to see this.
