what progam do i need (if any) to veiw qc files

i tried notepad but it apears blank

can anyone help

Notepad / Wordpad should work. Perhaps the QC file you're trying to view is actually blank?

this tut i have found says that i aint suposed to be http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Importing_CSS_Weapons_Into_HL2

WHY IS EVERYTHING GOIN WRONG

but 1 thing happened that he said was not supoosed to happen

" Now select 'Extract' and you will recieve two messages telling you that 1, the Model is loaded and 2, the smds have been dumped in your output directory, all is well. "

the first message popped up but the second didnt cause after the first message pops up the error report pops up and askes me if i wanna send it

i click dont send and it shuts down the program

Oh yes, that happened to me once. Make sure that the folder where you are extracting the model already exists and that it is empty.

CJ's answer is correct for the actual question that was asked, so i've marked it as such.
it would appear that a blank qc file is being created on your comp, ready to be written to when the decompiler has gathered all the info it needs, but then the decompile fails, and the qc remains blank.

make sure that the directories you're using aren't read only.
