1) Get Zoner's Half-Life tools and use them.

2) Look at the parameters: It's missing all the backslashes, so you might want to fix that. It's saying it can't find the file basically. (thats was the forum's fault, but you're right, the compilers can't find the .MAP- Lep.)

I was just looking in the tutorials section, and I could not find a basic steup guide for hammer! Perhaps someone should write one?!

The problem with teh hammre's help files is that they don't include the old Worldcraft tutorials! That's why I'm converting them to HTML for inclusion on the site...

1) Get Zoner's tools (files page here)

2) Don't keep your maps in folders with spaces in their names! Or if you have to, at least try configuring the tools to use the 8 character DOS location instead, e.g. c:\docume~1\george~1\MyDocu~1\CS\ILC\Half-L~1

Personally, my folders have spaces, and I've never had a problem with it.

Keep your RMFs and maps in one folder and make doubly sure that your compiling your map into valve/maps

And yes, as I have made this mistake myself, use Zoners, there in the map editing bit under files.

What it means is that you have some sort of error, most likely an invalid solid, undetectable by the standard "check for problems" command. What you need to do is go to your .RMF directory, find XXXX.log (XXXX being the name of your map), open it using notepad and scroll down till you find the line that tells you what the error is.

Either the .MAP file doesn't exist in that directory, or it doesn't like the spaces in your filenames...

Worse than the spaces in the folder names, you have a period in one of your folder names. That's like a serious no-no. Fix the name of that george.PENTIUM

Edit: Pending further input on the part of the poster, I am assuming this was indeed the problem and will mark it as such. Feel free to post with further info if that's not the case.
