I've had this problem ever since I had hammer, and yes I have read tutorials on textures and everything basic.

Heres my problem I cannot texture indivdual faces every time I click on a brush the whole thing selects, and I have found no way of selecting faces. So I am limited to only 1 texture per brush.

Can it be my settings or am I just not doing a simple step? please enlighten me..

DONT select the brush then hit the texture aplication tool (Shift-A).
That highlights all faces (same as ctr-left-mouse-clicking each
individual face). First select a texture in the texture browser window.
Then open the texture aplication tool (shift-a) WITHOUT selecting a
brush. Then right-mouse-click on the surface you want to apply the new
texture to.

Thank you soo much, I spent so much time re-reading all the beginner tutorials and never saw anything about applying textures that way.

Check his answer to see if in practice you can use it. If it fixes your problem, come back and mark it answered "Correct"

Make sure it works first on your end. If you need further clarification, ask again.
