I don't know how many of you remember my old box thingy, but I made something equally crappy, worthless, and stupid. Its a CD player. In a box. With crap.

Lemme know what you think, comments have been enabled on it, so comment away.

Heres a link, with clever text.

So yeah, thats it.

Later.

Haha... forgot about that doll... Interesting story behind that, really.

I was at a gas station a few years back with some friends, when pretty much out of nowhere this guy comes up to our car with that doll and says "I have kept the head, we will re-unite them in a few years." He was probably about 20 or so, and was most likely doing it just as a joke, but I've been too scared to throw the damn thing away, just incase he decides to collect on it.

Plus, it makes a great conversation piece, eh?

So why's the motherboard in there, just for the lightbulb's sake? Be interesting if you made a little linux box (i.e. 'always on' and without a monitor plugged in) that plays MP3s as well as CDs

There's a DOS based mp3 player which is perfect for just what you said Lep. http://www.damp-mp3.co.uk/

Comes with several drivers for LCD, and just requires enough HDD space to run DOS. So a CD drive, Hard Disk, speakers, and a sound card, and its all set for making a really cool mp3 player.

I was thinking of not having the mobo in there, but I couldn't remember for the life of me which two pins I would have to connect on the ATX power supply plug thing to have it actually start up... If you know which one it is, that would be peachy.

And the light is just hard-wired into the PSU. And by "hard-wired" I mean "taped strategically in place."

For some reason though, the CD-ROM that was in there decided to completely die on me yesterday, so I'm going to do some major reworking on it in the next few days... So I might just try to eliminate the motherboard completely...

And frag- how much would that cost, do ya think?

I was sorta assuming people would only make one out of spare/unused parts... So, that would be, um, free wouldn't it?
