EDIT: actually when i first formatted it i had a problem with video drivers, but that was just because it had installed version 1.0 of the drivers, once i figured that out and updated it it was all fine

You're the first person I've ever heard say they got everything working just fine in any 64-bit version of Windows anything.

The different versions of vista don't come into play with drivers, as the kernel is the same.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

It looks vaguely like a security guard's monitoring station. The kind used to spy on people at bus stops.
Anyone who is pregnant, has been pregnant, could ever become pregnant, or who could ever impregnate others should not read this.
I told you not to read that.

Looking at all the computer setups I feel kinda behind on the futurism trend. THis almost looks like the Deux Ex desktop computers. 3 monitors, glowing lights everywhere... I doubt they'll ever make those transparent screens. Why do all sci-fi designers think that people want transparent screens?
Why snark works.

They'll exist when OLED is ready for consumer deployment.

But I would imagine it to be pretty distracting. It's like the opposite of sunlight screen reflections.

Who said the screen would be transparent while you're using it? :razz:

Ohh... well, that's beyond stylish then. :heee:

I was just thinking of those sci-fi screens you see in movies. They're always transparent while being used. And that would be horrible for everyday use IMO.

I am teh future.

@Riven: Niceeee.
Is that a Razer mouse? Every time I've gotten one it died in a few months =/ I think maybe due to a 1337 overload on the circuits. My MX510 has lasted for years though.

I want stereoscopic HD computer monitors in my sun glasses and a PC the size of an Ipod.

I got a Razer pro click (a white Diamondback with a lower dpi) off Woot.com and it lasted for a year and a half. I dropped it hard twice in a week and it stop clicking a few days later. Today during their woot off I picked up this ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826153105 ) for $30. I believe it is the same mouse Riven has.
Reality has become a commodity.

Cool set up Riven. 3 monitors very cool. Is that 5.1 sound you got there?

Why don't you get us that damn photo and we'll be the judge of that :evil: .

Anyways folks, I got an extra gig of ram for the my laptop (~1.5gb now) and I didn't expect the difference it has made. I have gone from running half-life 2 on the lowest settings possible to running it on the highest settings possible at 800x600 res with a nice and smooth frame rate. AND I can minimize the game and do things SEAMLESSLY! Before my laptop was pretty slow after running hl2 (imagine during half-life 2) and now.. its made a big difference.

<DIV class=quote>
<DIV class=quotetitle>? quoting RedWood</DIV>
<DIV class=quotetext>"I believe it is the same mouse Riven has."</DIV></DIV>

-That is correct my friend. I've had the mouse for about a year now; no problems yet.

<DIV class=quote>
<DIV class=quotetitle>? quoting aaron_da_killa</DIV>
<DIV class=quotetext>"Is that 5.1 sound you got there?"</DIV></DIV>

-Actually 6.1, but I have it set to mix the rear center speaker because no game uses 6.1, so it's set to 5.1 with six speakers.

My specs:

-AMD Athlon 64 dual core 4800+ model processor @ 2.64 GHz (ovrclkd from 2.4 GHz)
-2 GB RAM
-Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS @ 640 MB & 7800 GT @ 256 MB
-one (1) Hitachi HDD 250 GB SATA; one Western Digital HDD 250 GB IDE; and an external enclosure for an internal Hitachi HDD 250 GB SATA
-Creative SB X-Fi 7.1 capable Soundcard
-one 20.1" Samsung LCD (1600x1200, model 204B); two 22" Samsung LCDs(1680x1050, model 225BW)

It took me 2 years to buy the parts as I gained the money for them, buying the case first, then the mobo, and so on... Since then (once I got the main parts in to where I could actually use it), I upgraded it with a soundcard, and and new processor (that last dual core from AMD for my 939 socket type [they don't make it any more]). And then lastly, I bought the two 22" widescreen Samsung LCDs together, having to replace one after about 6 months. All-in-all, I've spent almost five grand on it, but it's only worth three now, I imagine :cry: .
