This is a a discussion topic for the map "dm_silo" by rustbucket which can be found here

Map description:

My first map for HL2, very small just to get a feel for the Hammer editor after quite some time using the Unreal engine. While very simple it is fun for 2-4 players, although 3 seems to be the magic number.

Hi,

I've played this map a lot and would just like to say that it's a great, tight experience. With two people, it turns into a joust and rush strategy that can become very tense - especially if you've got something to prove. Three is awesome though, because it introduces an unpredicatble flow to a map that flows very well! Essentially this is a looped arena with a very simple and very effective design. Think of the great tight arenas you've played and trust me, this will be among them. rustbucket mentions that this is his first map, and as far as textures and effects go that's apparent, but structurally speaking this is a solid and terse peice of design that deserves props.

The "must have" weapons are located in exposed and awkward locales so if you really wanna lay out a smack down, you will simply have to put your ass on the line.

Very very boring visuals. You should work on that for the next version. :)

Yup, I know. Check out my latest dm-uioncarbide. (http://www.snarkpit.com/maps.php?map=1845) I think you'll find my lighting and texure techniques have improved.

Not bad at all for a first attempt. The lighting is done very well, but as mentioned before, the texturing could use some improvement. More physic objects wouldn't hurt either.

Good job, nevertheless.
