Hey all. I was directed here some time ago when no one at Interlopers or HalfLife2.net could help me.

So I found my way here and hoped somebody had an answer to my endless problems with the SDK Base 2007. So here it goes... I started on a mod by entering the name and version type in the SDK Mod Generator window. Once I opened Hammer under my newly created mod I came to a major problem.

To better describe it most the interface was screwed up, like no grid, and bounding boxes being black, and so on. I don't know why Hammer is like this but its when ever I try to mod in a mod package of my own (2007 being the only one available for SinglePlayer).

I messed with the configuration settings to no avail. It just stays screwed up and I cannot fix it. So whats causing this? And how can I fix it?
People like me made the chapter "Don't We Go To Ravenholm?"

Cause yes I am just as crazy to stay as Gregori is.

I am having the exact same issue. Already for like 6 months I believe. The issue was solved for some people some time ago but it still occurs to me. I have tried a lot as well but nothing has seemed to work.

Hope someone comes with a solution here.

Have you made any maps yet or just created the mod folder?
Try doing it manually:
1.Create a folder under steamapps\SourceMods\ (A mod can actually reside anywhere, but placing it here allows Steam to detect and launch it.)
2.Create a gameinfo.txt in the folder. You now have a mod!
3.Open the SDK launcher and switch to the relevant engine branch.
4.Choose "Edit Game Configurations" and click "Add". Enter your mod's name and folder.
To get the source code (or indeed any other files of Valve's that you want to modify) you will need to use GCFScape and access sourcesdk.gcf\src_mod\. Remember to change the custom build steps to point to your mod's folder.

Don't know if it will work, but worth a try if you haven't yet.

I recall that I fixed this problem a while ago. It was on the steam forums but im failing to google search for it now.

Suggest that you delete the SDK and re-download it. Then start all the games you want to map in at least once. From there re-set the game configuration settings.
