Hey, I gots me a Greek cook book for Christmas but sadly, there are no stores around that sell the ingredients. Get me a box full of spices and such that are non-perishable and mail'em to me.

That's the closest I come to knowing about Greek food other than eating in a restaurant. Was it the Parthenon?, that's the best Greek place bar none. Ooopa!

I dunno really about image size. I am only aware of the dpi.
Maybe you should check into another camera. shrugs
Your pics are still good though. No worries there. I am just really partial to mine is all. Its pretty old now but the quality is exceptional. Better be for 500 bucks.
Its a kodak 4530 if you wanna compare the stats to yours.

You can reduce resolution later to increase print dpi.
Let me explain. Let's say your camera is 5MP resolution (That's about 2050x1952 or something like that) and Let's also say, it's auto-set to 72 dpi. This image would print out ... to about 24"x26" or so. That's pretty big ... you can scale the dpi (though it will scale all proportions so you need to remember the original resolution) to 150 or 300 (150 is pretty standard for just some printing, if you want to print PHOTOS you need to use 300) This will make the image, without loss of quality, print size about 6"x7" or so.
So ... it's not really much to worry about, unless you want a HUGE high quality print.
You can check to see what dpi your camera supports by seeing if it has other quality modes ... take a picture in each mode (if they exist) and each resolution! You then take the resulting images toss them into something like photoshop and look at the image properties. It will tell you the resolution (as well as print size) of the image as well as the dpi ... you'll figure out which mode you should be using pretty quickly.
You should also be aware that taking a picture in a lower resolution may raise the dpi, so it's a pretty good idea to just do some tests and see which works best for print vs digital and then to keep this in mind when you use the camera.
Also, when you toss the photo into an image manipulation program ... which you WILL need to do to prep the image for printing, make sure you know where you're going to print it. If you're printing at home, it's likely an RGB color printer ... however, if you're going to get it printed at a store, you need to find out what they use ... because it's likely CMYK color. If you don't adjust your photo's color mode it will look really really bad. (wrong colors!)
Here's some background on why you have to do all this:
Monitors and TVs use pixels to display their colors (yes, I know everyone knows this, bare with me) printers use dots. They, literally, use very tiny drops of ink.
Monitor's unit density is pixels per inch (ppi), a printers unit density is dots per inch (dpi), they're not the same, of course. Ppi actually depends on the size of your monitor, physically. And a printer can scale dpi, most common printers can go quite high, like 1200 dpi. An average computer monitor might have 98ppi, though. So, basically, photos have a higher density of color units and are a MUCH higher resolution than your screen or any screen that you own.
This is also, to note, generally why film makers prefer film over digital cameras. Most all digital cameras are locked in at 1080P resolution, which is a much lower resolution and unit density than 35mm film. (To note IMAX uses 65mm film. Why it looks so pretty)
This is also why screenshots of games look AWFUL in magazines. They don't properly resize them to account for the density difference, therefore the games look aliased, texture stretched, and not as nice as they will actually look when you play them. The screenshots they get sent are likely 72dpi and a maximum of 1080P, if you want the image to take a two page spread ... it's going to need to be blown up.
It will be pretty nice when digital resolution surpasses photo resolution. You'll start seeing things that are absolutely jaw dropping and insane.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Mine has 4 settings if I recall. 1.2 3.1 4.0 and 5.1
I have never really tested the dpi thing. I only know that it has a photo quality setting and that's the one I use, and have been using for all the pictures I have posted over the years.
I don't even know if any other non-photo quality setting alters the dpi. I guess I should check. But even at the setting I use I can get s many pictures on my sd card that I never worry. Even when I went to the grand canyon I had my laptop with me to empty the camera into so I always had room for great quality pictures.
I have noticed though that everyone with an Olympus camera has lower dpi pictures than my Kodak. I wonder if 72 is the norm now? All I know is if I load two pictures, one at 72 and mine at 230 and look at them in full size mode, mine remain clear and the 72 get fuzzy around the edges of objects. If 72 is the norm now, I'd look into older cameras that have higher dpi's.
