English Exam Today

I have an English exam in a few hours from now, shouldn't be too difficult

Anyway, I was browsing some old topics of mine, and it makes me realize how much my English has improved, also because of this forum. Back then, for example, I didn't even know what "Assisted" meant.

I still have a lot to learn but because of this forum and by gaming etc. it shouldn't become too difficult to learn.

Sadly with today's mindset in America, assisted equates to "Welfare"
Its like people with lung disorders who get on oxygen. Once they are on welfare, they can never get back off.

It was just an example of how words change definition over time. What you learn today may have a wider meaning next year.

The association you made with the word 'assisted' is true Orph. I had to LOL because it caught me off guard and read like a punch-line to a joke. I didn't see that association with the word coming up,

Did you make it through the exam? I mean unless you specifically ask for a definition or mention about something you don't know or understand, I safely assume sometimes that you might as well speak English natively. I think at least on the forums, you've got it down. Feel free to fool any English speaker over the internet and tell them you're from Canada or something, lol. If you mess up, just tell them "That's how we use it up here!" (no offense to Canadians, just ignorant Americans)

Haha thank you for the compliments, I'd really have to do my best to fool them that much though.

However, what I am trying to improve these days is how fluent I speak English, because that could use some work; both my accent and how frequent I stutter between the words.
Fortunately, with my new headset, I play more and more Left 4 Dead on-line with my microphone. I mostly used to avoid that in the past.

Oh and the English exam went very well. Now all that is left is Biology, next tuesday.
