I promise you Vosh, I did not trace that. I don't know how I could prove it though. Long story short, drawing is my gift I've been drawing since I started school, my classmates are often amazed at my skillz so I guess thats the best I can do. Plus I don't know why anyone would trace something, call it their own and then send it as fan art, I don't see what fun that would be
P.S: I'm not freaking on you, just talking

Hey where my post go about falling unconcious and dying from lazyness?!?
You should colour with watercolours or something, pencils are only good if you build up the layers uber slowly and constant so its a perfect fill. Water colours will also help define the characters shapes a bit better.

No not really reno,
I kind of have a problem with making up characters (?especuly? cartoon) and leting anyone see it. I feel like they might make fun of my ideas  . Which is to bad since I'd like to show people. But there are eceptions like showing then over the net or if I really know the person I'm showing it to. Do others ever feel like that?

Might I remind you of my drawings
People said their shoulders were long, and shouldnt end below their ties.
I said "They are sticks, thats how I draw them."
Dont change your style because someone bitches  .

Very motovating Vash nice advise. When I draw the most is when I'm (cirently ?absessed?) with a movie or show, they change regularly. My current one is, you guessed it Invader Zim. I like the chalange of learning how to work with the style and mastering it. But that adds to the problem becouse even if they like the art they might hate the show and dis me about it insted..what ever.

doesnt matter what other people think tbh, I dont like to show anybody else my work either. I wont let my family look at any of my art ive done in the past, im sure its perfectly natural.
There will always be someone who doesnt like what you do, in my case it was my art teacher who wanted to do nothing mroe than tell me im s**t, in those exact words.

Thanks all for the support. Now here's a oppertunity for you. Though I might need some practice, I got a idea  .. no, to do characters for people on the site what I mean is that the first flew people (mybe 5) can send me a PM of what their personality is like (it would also help if you've uploaded your pic to the site also) And I could draw what you might look like as an Irken soldier or invader based on that information. sound cool then PM me remimber only 5 spots are avalible I can send the pic to you through e-mail (please provide in PM) then mybe you can display it in this form or use it as a avitor what ever

i was always the exact opposite, my feelings are, there is no bad art, just many levels of good.
drawing and such is a personal thing, and if someone does their best, it cannot be wrong.
people stress way to much on this "approval" thing
anywho's thats my take

Well thats why we rate stuff with personal interests in mind. However most people have a common liking of art in the sense of good and bad... so when someone rates something it is likely that alot of people will agree, but not everyone.

true, but IMO anything other than positive could lead to someone not posting at all.
we should do this art thing, like we do maps, and try to remain positive about the crappy stuff too, at least till we see if the person is able to improve or not.
anywho's, i took art in school, i have an appreciation for any picture, even if i don't care for its theme, just cause it was done by hand, makes it special

Everyone always seems to hate their art teacher, but I must say that without the help of mine I would never have achieved the grade I did at higher. I got a B, which is far more than I should ever have been able to get with my skills. She was always really helpful and supporting, and would give advice that always really would help the overall piece. Without her her help I would almost certainly have got a much lower grade.

oh man. Not mine.
She'd come over and if anything you were drawing wasn't life like, and no this wasn't a life drawing class. she'd draw on it with her goddamned black caligraphy pen of what it "should" be. Not that her art work was any good. I saw some of it, I could pull a better drawn face out of my ass. Sorry, I may be bitter, but it was a completly unfair experience. It was a situation where you got graded because of her respect for you and not because of your work.
I only did one drawing, ever, that she actually liked. It was an appropriation of M.C. Eshers (spelt it wrong, meh) piece, I totally forget the name, but it's the one of the dude holding the reflective ball. I replicated that with Dr. Strange holding the ball and energy beams and all.
But she had some weird fixation on Esher, so. lol

my art teacher lost/threw away all my work & gave me an E, took a long time for me to bother drawing anything again. I quickly gave up after doing so again though. Still useless.

And that's why you carry a billy club with you where ever you go
I find it moronic that instructors, in general, will give you a terrible grade on their accord. It doesn't make sense, maybe he didn't like you Korn because you never told him the secrets of CoD lol.

Bah. I hate to see such negativity about art teachers. It upsets me that some of you guys had such terrible experiences, whereas I always found art a great escape, and the teachers always seemed very supportive. I guess people are people, though, and you can have bitter people in any department of education.
Anyway.. If you like doing it...shake that s**t off, and have the confidence in yourself to keep progressing. If you let one persons bitterness and lack of understanding deflate something you really enjoy, then you have no chance of being good at it. Believe me, there are plenty of pitfalls, gray days, and negative people out there...but if we let that paralyze our dreams and imagination, then we just suck as artists. Have steel balls, and do whatever the hell you want, as long as it makes you happy....and of course, as long as it's not 'eating people'.

At the time that it happens you care a lot.
Two reasons why.
1) They're grading you and its frustraiting as hell to never be able to get a decent grade on work you busted your ass on.
2) They're suppose to be a representative from that area of society. And then they give you the impression that you're talentless and worthless, in some aspects. They might as well just slap you in the face, It has the same effect.
A lot of art teachers, at least ones I've had, are opinionated and just plain mean. I don't know why they're so mean, but they are. It's most likely they have a closeminded view of art and don't think that you fall into that bracket area. I had the same problem from bulls**t teachers not permitting me to take classes I needed because they "didn't think I can handle the world load" and it's s**t. Half of teachers you may have in your life time wont even remember your name, so what would they care about you in many degrees?
Again, this is just some experiences I've had with teachers, and I'm not holding them all accountable, I've had some great teachers as well. But those few are ones that stick out in your mind like a splinter. And you'll wonder why the hell you couldn't get them to at least respect you in some way or another.
On that note. Think of this. The guy who created FedEx, came up with that idea for his Theasus in Buisness School ... he got an F so he went out and proved the instructor wrong

crono, i hate to mention this, but that crummy teacher is a good representation of REAL LIFE, get used to it.
i am not saying everyone is so bad, but life in general sux, from a standpoint of people in a position to be in charge often display the exact same attributes.
if the teacher bothers you that much, just wait till you have an employer with the same qualities, and you cannot do a damned thing about it.
anywho's, i think, you guys should toughen up, or we will be reading about some other candyass who committed suicide again, over life's harsh realities.
life is what YOU make of it, NOT what others do to you..

Art teachers are tricky mo fos... My art tutor at uni for architecture degree is damn good though. He doesn't fiddle with your ideas like most art teachers, or tell you what to do. He sort of asks questions which make you question your art into you deciding another way or your own additions. Very good guy at art teaching

Some of Echer's pictures are really strange. We've got the one with everyone walking up stairs at different angles (not the one in your post) painted on the wall at school. And guess where it is- halfway up the stairs to the top floor.
