Well for starters I don't really like Steam, but now it's crossed the line. When I tried reinstalling Steam on my system I attempted to log in with my account to no avail, I tried all passwords that I usually use and nothing worked. So I tried the password recovery and it says "mailed, enter this BS Q&A here." So I wait...and no email, I tried three seperate times and nothing. Maybe I was hacked I say, so I make a new account and search for a user by my email, it pops up just fine. So why in the hell is it not sending me my password recovery? I can't make the new account work since it doesn't like 2 accounts with one key. And it isn't accepting my OP4 key at all. It shouldn't have to be this difficult. Pardon me while I chuck something out the window...

First off. Comment on what steam can do to you in an immoral fasion isn't helping anyone.
Secondly, steam is back up at the moment ...
Gorb, what was the error message it gave? (it would help if you posted it, I'd imagine.)
Also, their email service, as hard as it is to hear this, takes a LONG time. Like, wait a day or two. The reason why is that, they've undershot the use of Steam, I think. More people then they had planned are using everything all at once, and their servers aren't able to handle the load, now I don't know why on earth their Steam servers are the same as their web and email servers, but they seem to be. Such as, if Steam is down, so are the email and site servers.

They should have made it an option, not mandatory. As well, from now on, any updates I would like, I cant get, because I play CS with bots on my comp until I get the internet at the end of the year. I dont mind bots, Im using a special variant of the PODbot and the SWAT bot and they are fairly realistic. Anyway, I dont like the move to steam. Ever since, I've heard more bad then good. In fact, I have yet to hear any good come from it.

No, this was a few days ago, and I've yet to receive anything. There is no error message that's the whole point. If there was I'd be able to do something about it. It just says that the email has been sent but it actually hasn't. It had nothing to do with it being down. It just acted like everything was swell, but didn't help me.

The whole point is I can't...it just doesn't see the password as correct.
I have a fast connection, and I still prefer WON. Why do you think Steam got installed in the first place?

Did you try the password recovery crap? where it asks you a question, if you answer correctly you can change you password without knowing your old one.
Other then that, I don't know what to tell you, man. I wish I did.

Read my very first post. That IS the problem. It says the password has been mailed but my inbox stays empty. I did it once before (about a month or so ago.) but now it doesn't work.

well some updates introduce new things, like 1.6 with the riot shield. Anyways, as long as I can still get bot updates and RU updates, Im happy. Until I get internet and have to get steam anyways. As for Steam, I dont really find anything much wrong with it, it offers the same things I could get without it, but now you need it if you want to get future game updates.

I have never had a problem with steam. Perfectly good piece of software if you ask me - I like the way you can easily add players in your game to your freinds list. I'm not overly thirlled about it downloading cs:cz for me, but it didn't cost me anything and doesn't present any kind of problem.

Think about it though, since I can't log in, there would be no way it would let me change it or else anyone could change anyone's passwords. I'll try it again soon, but I'm not really thrilled with having a couple of gigs of new stuff on my computer anyway. Even though Steam downloads stuff at like 1.5MBps

All experience I've had with Steam (not very much) is bad experience. Steam was a good idea that turned out to work very bad. Too bad. Hopefully they'll fix it so people can actually use Steam and enjoy it.

Steam is a blessing. Apart from this random crash when you close crap which it has going on it's never really given me any issues and this is hardly a fatal, omg my PC is broken issue. It takes a second to fix.
It's just so much nicer to use and you no longer get that crappy losing sound bug.

The thing is that for me WON loads way, way faster. Servers were easier to find and join. And when I used HLSW the sound bug didn't occur. Now I have to sort through the Steam servers too...there are so many empty ones these days.

1) How could I answer a question I don't receive?
2) I figured it out...I had signed up ages ago and for some reason this time it needed me to use my email account as the main account (they changed it) I looked it up and figured it out.

I'm pretty sure that is on the FAQ of the steam website, which it probably tells you to go to from within steam when you get the error... But of course we must still say that it is all steam's fault and that steam sucks and that it never works properly... ?
