This may seem like spam to some of you, but I have a question.

Are you able to find out how much Ink your printer will have after you print out something? I have considerd printing the FarCry manuel (188 pages), but I dont want to waste all my ink.

depending on the age of your printer, you can print astronomically high amounts of pages.. if

you set the DPI to its lowest settings. quality low.

text files will still be sharp, and you save ungodly amounts of ink.

look in the properties, set everything to minimum and apply..

set the paper to within 1/2 an inch of the borders..

press preview, and make sure its how you like it..

print it.

With 188 pages there's probably a bunch of useless pages you could weed out too, unless for some reason you want the whole manual just for the sake of it.

I might not print it after all. It seems like a waste printing it, when I could just read it online and always have it there.

Besides, why print a manuel to read on the road or something, when you cannot test the setups in a real map?

  • Economy Print Settings (images -> greyscales, too)
  • Leave out the blank pages, mayb reduce all fonts to 10 or so. (If it's a PDF: Openoffice can import them; I think)
  • Print on both side of the paper ... this is easy to do ...

Or just don't consider printing the manual, even. Save money AND time.

sometimes you just have headers & footers on a page, and that's pretty useless
